Dive into Elegance with Watercrafters - Your Pool, Our Passion.

I HAVE A SALTWATER POOL WITH AN ELECTRONIC CHLORINE GENERATOR (ECG). WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

Salt pools tend to run with a high pH and need to have their stabilizer levels adjusted at the beginning and middle of the season. Test your water regularly at home and adjust the pH as needed. Also, make sure to bring in your water for professional water testing periodically as well.

  • We recommend using granular chlorine instead of using your ECG’s “boost” feature. Your cell will last longer, and you’ll get better results.
  • ECG’s do not work in colder water temperatures. Don’t turn yours on until the water reaches the proper temperature according to your manufacturer’s directions (usually 60 degrees). During the time the generator is not operating supplement with chlorine using SilkGuard Complete® Tabs/Sticks.
  • ECGs are prone to phosphate & carbonate scaling. Protect your cell. Add  Mineral Springs® Stain and Scale monthly to prevent buildup and 1-2 times a season use  Mineral Springs® Cell Cleaner to remove buildup.

NOTE: This info does not apply to Mineral Springs pools since most of these issues are addressed by using Beginnings as needed & adding Renewal once per week. If you want an easier way to enjoy your saltwater pool, ask us about the Mineral Springs program approach.
